Epley Aftercare

After care from Canalith repositioning is extremely dependent on head position relative to gravity. As discussed in the office, the head should remain upright for about 48 hours. This means that at night, one may need to sleep in a recliner. The recliner should not be set to the supine position.

Limited housework and travel is recommended. One should avoid bending at the waist or bending over. Vigorous exercise is not recommended.

A soft collar can be helpful or a rolled towel can be set around the neck. Some have found use with a travel pillow which can be inflated and placed around the neck.

After 48 hours, you can lay down and see if the dizziness emerges. Please call us immediately if you experience dizziness.
